Yet again Police officers in Philadelphia have been shot. Two were shot last night by 16 year old boy. Okay… I am trying very hard not to type something questionable but I can hold back no longer. WHAT THE HELL?! No really— two shot in one night? Just weeks after another police officer was KILLED just doing his rounds. When you step back and look at WHY these people are ready to shot without question its ridiculous. I don’t understand why the city has to be so dangerous. Why doesn’t anyone have at least basic respect for law enforcement? I can’t even write anymore.

Mayor talk
I’m late in posting so I apologize…
Philadelphia has a new mayor (elect). Michael Nutter. He seems to be an okay guy, black, democrat (of course this is Philadelphia) and best of all not Street. John Street has been Philadelphia’s Mayor for the past eight years or so. He has lead Philadelphia to become one of the most violent and uneducated as well as dirty cities in the United States. All while giving no bid contracts to his cronies and supporting a system of corruption in Philadelphia’s highest government offices for his time in office. That's John Street. Michael Nutter on the other hand although it remains to be seen what he will do is not so… “dirty” I’ll say.
I’m not jumping on any political band wagons but his promises to fire the school superintendent and chief of police is sure as hell on right track. We all (Philadelphia residents) know that Philadelphia is in a strange time. Caught in limbo between descending into a dark pit of violence and poverty and rising into the spot light of the east coast and its other major metropolises. So I’ve been saying it for years and now everyone is uttering it. “Philly needs a Giuliani.” Is this Nutter guy going to be IT? Because we have it all. Location, population, interest, schools, business, we just need leadership.

I dream...
I had a dream last night about the Middle east. I was being paraided around with other Americans to tour the oil refineries in Iran and Kuwait. Our government wanted to show the goverenment of Iran that we are a diverse people and not to kill us all.

Yay-yo
Hi just an update on my life. Things have been hectic to say the least. I am heading out of town today again to visit my mom in the hospital. Johns Hopkins in downtown Baltimore.
So that job interview I had? I got the job I like it so far it’s a lot easier to get to and leaves me free to do a lot more things. The only thing I don’t like very much about it is the super snooty cliental but it was the same in burbs just no ultra designer suits. I’m just a little sick of old men looking at me like a piece of meat but what can a cityslicker do? Tell then to shut their eyes?
On my way to school this week I noticed while taking the train almost everyone high schooler, college student, and adult alike were high. Yes high. Eyes red and sleepy and everyone looked so relaxed. Then I get to my new job and most of the patrons are well high too. But you know sniffing the yay-yo. So I start to think is this what the city is? A bunch of smoked out lower income residents and a bunch of coked out higher income residents?
But in the suburbs everyone was high too. On good old prescription medication. But that's “different” they need it for their restless leg syndrome.
The world is a messed up place and the more modern it gets the more messed up it gets.
Pray for me that I don’t DIE in Baltimore. FYI:I I HATE the entire state of Maryland. I hate it, I hate it, I HATE it.

Thank you
My mom’s breathing is breathing on her own with very little help from the ventalator. The doctors were wrong. She is breathing! I know she’s not going to jump up from her hospital bed and start moon-walking but this is a HUGE step. This event has put a lot of things in sharp focus for me. The power of positive thinking does work. I am not one for prayer but it worked. All the people who have been praying for my mom it really did help THANK YOU so much.
This is having me re-thinking my outlook on faith. Maybe there is hope for all us modern people who cling to their laptops and run from churches. I used to think maybe god really was sleeping but obviously not. I am so grateful for everyone who took time out to pray for me and my mom. THANK YOU.

READ
Does anyone have a sick parent? Or sick family member, friend even pet? I do. My mother has ALS. She has had it for about 5 years. I rushed her to the hospital @ 4 am on Friday morning because she could barely breathe. She is on a ventilator. She's on her way out.
My posts will be brief for a week or so while I go through this. Support is appreciated.

Dude get your own!
There is a commercial for the sony PSP. The guy with the PSP is on a plane and some obnoxious man is sitting next to him and is way into his game. At the end of the commercial the narrator says “Dude get your own!”.
So I was standing at a food cart in front of my school getting a Jamaican Beef Patty. (YUM). Some guy notices I am holding my pictures I presented for my Photo- Midterm. He says, “Are they your pictures?” I say. “Yes.” “Can I see?” he asks so I let him look at the pictures. Then he starts saying this. “I’m just checking your overall tone, and composition.” Blah, blah, blah. Seriously? Get this: he shows me his pictures that he does on Microsoft Picture it! Okay Uhhh…. So why is this guy trying to “school” me on my photography? His work was awful! God Awful. So after I had to made it clear to him to give me back my pictures all I can say is: dude get your own hobby!
So my point? Why are people no let me re-phrase that. Why are adults so ready to jump out of the clear blue and “school” people who are visibly younger than them? I had parents that did a great job at teaching me things, and now I’m in school learning from other adults. I don’t want your help weirdo cart guy! Sigh! And groan.
Also I have a job interview today. I’m excited hopefully I won’t have to in the suburbs any longer. I can work, learn and play in the city. I don’t know what in the world persuaded me to work out in the suburbs in the first place.
Oh well wish me luck!
